Join me in Copenhagen at the Innovation Roundtable Summit (plus new insights from “The Other F Word”)

In 2015, my coauthor John Danner and I released our book “The Other F Word: How Smart Leaders, Teams, and Entrepreneurs Put Failure to Work,” (Wiley).

At the time, I thought we would have two or, at most, three years of interest in our book and the related frameworks we developed to cultivate a more productive relationship with failure and accelerate innovation and growth.

Fortunately, The Other “F” Word continues to attract interest and be applied in Silicon Valley and around the world. It is being released in Vietnamese (!), and “OFW” is now available in India in softcover to hit that essential low price point (the US remains hardcover-only territory). With a timeless topic like this, new cases are constantly being created, with current illustrations ranging from Boeing to WeWork to more positive examples.

Next month - on November 5 in Copenhagen, Denmark, at the Innovation Roundtable Global Summit - I will provide an updated take on The Other F Word when I deliver the closing Day 1 keynote address.

I look forward to spending time and sharing ideas there with nearly a thousand corporate innovation leaders gathering from around the world.

With all this in mind, I love the article just posted by Innovation Roundtable CEO Axel Rosano, in advance of the upcoming conference. Entitled: “The Seven R’s of Managing Failure and Learning Fast,” the article is organized around the seven-stage “Failure Value Cycle” that John and I developed in “the Other ‘F’ Word,” with new, current examples taken from a broad cross-section of Innovation Roundtable speakers and partners such as:

-          Sophie Bialaszewski, Head of People at Lloyds Bank

-          Mohabir Sawhney, author and professor at Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management

-          Paul Meisner, VP Global Innovation Policy and Communications at Amazon

-          Magnus Goransson, Design Director of Creative Play Lab at LEGO

-          and other global leaders
